Joined Timeline of History and Policy

This timeline brings together our efforts to understand different political, economic, and social changes that have shaped Group Water Schemes (GWSs) as they have developed since the 1960s in rural Ireland. This combined timeline includes moments in the GWSs’ development, agricultural policy and environmental policy set by the EU and Ireland, and moments in Ireland’s history over the last 125 years. Timelines dedicated to each of these themes can be found here.

Timelines

This project is funded under the EPA Research Programme 2014-2020. The EPA Research Programme is a Government of Ireland initiative funded by the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment. It is administered by the Environmental Protection Agency, which has the statutory function of co-ordinating and promoting environmental research.
